How Much Do Labs Weigh?

With their friendly, affectionate personality along with lovable good looks, it’s no wonder why the Labrador Retriever is the AKC’s most popular dog breed.

Labs

That said, how much do Labs weigh?

An adult male Lab generally weighs between 65 to 80 pounds (29-36 kg), while a female can weigh 55 to 70 pounds (25-32 kg).

However, there are Labs that can weigh much more than this. In fact some Labs can reach weights of up to 150 pounds (68 kg).

Having a Lab as a pet is almost like having another child. They are so high-spirited and will often give you looks that just stop you in your tracks. They bond with the entire family and are great around small children.

Plan to give them plenty of exercise as they love to run and play. Although they can be found with black and chocolate coats, the yellow Lab is arguably the most iconic of all dogs.

~ Fun Fact ~
“Black Dog” by Led Zeppelin was named after a black Lab. Although not a song about dogs, the band gave the song its title after seeing a black Lab roaming around the music studio where they were recording their album Led Zeppelin IV.
