The weight of a carrot can generally be determined by its length.

A carrot with a length of 5.5 inches or less will normally weigh around 1.94 ounces (55 grams).

On average a medium sized carrot will weigh approximately 2.15 ounces (61 grams).

They only became sweet during the 18th century. Before that, they were very dry and bitter.

A carrot has many culinary uses. It can be juiced, eaten raw and cooked in many dishes, even carrot cake.
