Is there anything better than being in a park in the summer time surrounded by trees?

They bring so many benefits to our world don’t they? They oxygenate the planet and bring us delicious fruits.

How much does a tree weigh?

This is difficult to answer as there are so many different types of tree and so many different sizes.

A hardwood tree that is 80 feet tall and has a diameter of 24 inches would weigh around 20,000 pounds (9,072 kg).

A pine tree that is 50 feet tall and has a diameter of 12 inches will weigh around 2,000 pounds (907 kg).

Like all living things trees need water. A big tree can consume 100 gallons of water from the ground in a single day.

Did you know that trees can communicate with each other? They can send distress signals to each other about droughts or diseases, and even possible insect attacks!

Trees absorb carbon dioxide. In the United States forests absorb around 10% of carbon emissions.

There are 60,000 known species of tree in the world.

The tallest tree in the world is a redwood tree named Hyperion. It stands 379.7 feet (115.7 meters) tall!
