Finding out who the heaviest person in the world is, really comes down to an estimation.

This is due to health issues, the extreme size of the person and a lack of mobility.

Jon Brower Minnoch is widely accepted of being the heaviest person. He weighed an incredible 1,400 pounds (635 kg)!

He lived from 1941-1983.

In March 1978, Mr. Minnoch war taken to the hospital after suffering from heart and respiratory failure.

It took a dozen fireman to get him to the hospital. When admitted, 13 people worked together in order to roll him over.

While in the hospital, Mr. Minnoch was on a 1,200 calorie per day diet and began losing much of his weight.

After two years he dropped down to 476 pounds (216 kg).

Sadly, he could not keep the weight off.

In September of 1983 he passed away and weighed 798 pounds (362 kg) at the time of his death.
